Our Scholarship Program
Thursday, 15 October 2009 11:59

From the earliest days of Tellico Village Community Church, there has been a commitment to helping young people further their education through scholarship grants. The first scholarship was named after our founding pastor Dr. Carl F. Burke, and was awarded in 1992 to a graduating senior from Loudon High School. Since that time, three other high schools have been added. Today, church scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from Loudon High, Lenoir City High School, Greenback High School, and Sequoyah High School.

These scholarships are four-year grants of $1750 per year. Currently, sixteen students are receiving these scholarships.

The church has also established two additional scholarships for students from any of the supported high schoolswho are enrolled in a Technical or GED program.

Several church members or groups have also endowed named scholarships to help worthy students. These scholarships are:

  • The Church Crafters Scholarship
  • The June and Bill Burch Scholarship
  • The John Garcia Memorial Scholarship
  • The Dick and Phyllis Tobey Memorial Scholarship
  • The James Pritchard Memorial Scholarship (several available)
  • The Ted and Joan Newton Scholarship
