Organist Position Opening Part-Time Tellico Village Community Church, Loudon, TN
We are seeking a skilled organist to accompany the Chancel Choir and support congregational singing in two Sunday morning worship services. We are an inter-denominational congregation with a lectionary based worship style. Music ranges from classical choral and protestant hymnody to some gospel hymn tradition. The ideal candidate would be a skilled accompanist with training in organ performance and literature. Improvisational skills would be a plus, especially for hymn accompaniment. Currently the position would include Wednesday evening and Sunday mornings, but other ensembles and opportunities are negotiable depending upon the candidate's interests and availability.
Salary range $20k-$35k
The church is currently in an $8.2 million sanctuary construction project. The new sanctuary will include a 42 rank, 3 manual, restored 1862 Henry Erben pipe organ with Casavant console. The design also uses some Haskell and Austin pipe work from the same period. The restoration is Cornell Zimmer opus 114. Spec is available upon request or at Zimmer website. Anticipated completion is December 2010 - Jan. 2011. Temporary instrument is a Galanti digital, 3 manual.
Tellico Village is a planned golf/lake community 30 miles south of Knoxville, Tennessee.
