Our Prayer Shawl Ministry
Friday, 16 October 2009 12:12

Every week a small group of people who love to knit and crochet gather together to create beautiful shawls. shawlsAs they work, they pray God's blessings upon the person who will receive the shawl. That's why these wonderful creations are called "prayer shawls."

Our congregation also prays over the prayer shawls when we dedicate them at our worship services.

The shawls are given to people who are going through medical procedures, times of loss, and other life experiences when the comfort of a prayer shawl can be a strengthening gift of love. Often, the prayer shawls are delivered by one of our Pastors, our Parish Nurse, or a Stephen Minister. Sometimes, members of the congregation ask if they can bring a prayer shawl to a family member or acquaintance. The answer is always "Yes!"

If you would like to receive a prayer shawl, or know of someone who might be blessed by receiving one, please call the church office at 458-1516.
