Bible Studies
The joy of Easter continues as we enter a season of learning, reflection, and spiritual growth. This spring, several Bible study opportunities will begin after Easter. We hope you will consider taking part.
-
“First Look” (led by Tricia Waldron) offers a welcoming introduction to scripture for individuals who may be new to reading the Bible or who would enjoy revisiting familiar stories with fresh eyes. Sessions will meet at 1pm at Premier Residence on April 9, 16, 23, and 30, and May 7.
-
“Visio Divina” (led by Pastor Katie) invites participants into a unique and prayerful way of engaging scripture through art. In this practice, participants reflect on a work of art and its connection with a corresponding biblical passage. The final session of this study will meet in the Fireside Room at 9:15am on Tuesday, May 26.
-
Our men’s Bible study (led by Ken Kinzler & Bill Barbour) will explore the book of Romans using insights from the popular devotional writer Max Lucado. This study offers an opportunity for conversation, fellowship, and deeper understanding of this powerful letter of Paul’s. The group's final session will meet on Thursdays, May 28 at 4pm in the Fireside Room.
-
The Missions Book Club (led by Nancy Gregg) will read and discuss the memoir Educated, exploring themes of poverty, religion, and the power of education. The conversation will connect with our church’s scholarship mission program and the ways education can transform lives. This group will meet for the final session on Friday, May 29 at 10am in Room 1A/B (Sunday School Room).
-
The Women's Summer study called "Place and Spaces Women Meet Jesus" will take place on Wednesdays at 10am during the month of June in Room 1 A/B (Sunday School Room). No registration or books needed other than a Bible. Come for an hour of interactive thoughts and study with Debbie Thompson.
