Last year our Christmas offering was spent on infrastructure for the new Habitat for Humanity Hilltop Hideaway neighborhood in Loudon. As you can see in the pictures, progress is being made. The next milestone in this development will be the groundbreaking ceremony on April 8, 2025, and we are all invited!
Construction of the first house in the neighborhood will start at that time and it will be a special house – a Faith Build house. The purpose of a Faith Build house is to create an atmosphere of support and encouragement for area churches and their congregations that will further the missions of both Habitat and the churches to address and provide affordable housing to low-income families in Loudon County. Twelve area churches are committed to this project, and we are going to be a part of it. So, part of our Christmas offering will be used for the sponsorship of this house. More information on our church’s volunteer activities related to this build will be announced in the spring.
The Christmas offering will also be used to help fund disaster recovery of housing in East Tennessee. Habitat is planning to organize volunteers to work in the impacted areas and our church will be looking for teams to support this effort. We are all aware of the growing need for affordable housing, and the destruction of houses in the recent storms added greatly to that need.
During the month of December, visit tellicochurch.com/give to give online or give by check payable to CCTV with the designation of Christmas Offering on the memo line of the check. Please pray for those in need of decent, affordable shelter and give generously.
