SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
Jesus called all those who follow Him to love our neighbors as ourselves. That is a call that we all must follow until we are called to our eternal home. The question then, is how do we continue Christ's ministry of compassion while we still have life to live on this earth? At the Community Church we believe in ministering to our surrounding communities through various ministry partners. To get involved with a ministry partner or if you have any questions, contact our church office.
The Friendship Kitchen is a nonprofit, Christian, charitable organization established to provide nutritional aid to feed insecure children, families, and persons in the Loudon area. In partnership with other churches and the Piney Ruritan organization, we cook and deliver meals on the first and third Monday of each month. If you would like more information or would like to participate, contact our Kitchen Coordinator, Nadine Mazienis.
Habitat for Humanity builds homes alongside families of Loudon County. Volunteers are always needed to work on the homes being built and to help with administrative needs. For further information, call the Habitat office at 865-458-0704. To volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity Home store, call 865-988-7427.
We have a wishing well/drop off area located underneath the grand staircase. As worshippers come in on Sunday mornings, or anytime during the week, they can find collection baskets for no longer needed eyeglasses, empty ink cartridges, aluminum can pull tabs, education box tops, and a number of other items that various non-profit organizations can use to benefit their particular needs. This also serves as the drop-off point for caps and mittens and other special collections. For more information click here.
